The verdict

Situational

Same $80,000 personal or $150,000 household income bar, different payouts. The Cash Back World Elite pays cash: 4% on groceries against the Odyssey's 3% (both on the first $10,000 a year), 3% on entertainment and alternative transportation against 2%, and the same 3% on restaurants and 1% on everything else, for $100 a year instead of $130. The Odyssey World Elite pays BONUSDOLLARS, earns 2% on travel where the Cash Back card pays 1%, and adds 8 free passes a year to the Desjardins Odyssey Lounge at Montréal-Trudeau. Its included travel insurance also covers trips of up to 60 days (depending on your age), where the Cash Back card's stops at 3. If you take trips longer than 3 days, that cover can outweigh the Cash Back card's higher earn, because otherwise you'd pay for a separate travel policy. If you don't travel for more than 3 days at a time and rarely fly through Montréal, take the Cash Back World Elite.
