Amazon.ca Rewards Mastercard vs Rogers Red World Elite Mastercard

Two cards, one Standard Score rubric. The Rogers Red World Elite Mastercard scores higher overall at 7.0/10 — but the right pick depends on which components match your spending.

The verdict

Strong

Two free cash-back cards built for different households. The Amazon.ca Rewards Mastercard pays 2.5% at Amazon.ca and Whole Foods for Prime members (1.5% without) plus a Prime FX offset that largely erases foreign transaction fees; the Rogers Red World Elite pays a flatter 2% on everything for Rogers/Fido/Shaw customers (1.5% without) plus 3% outright on US-dollar purchases. Heavy Amazon/Whole Foods Prime households come out ahead on the MBNA card; everyone else — especially anyone without Prime — gets more from Rogers' flat rate.
