Two free cash-back cards built for different households. The Amazon.ca Rewards Mastercard pays 2.5% at Amazon.ca and Whole Foods for Prime members (1.5% without) plus a Prime FX offset that largely erases foreign transaction fees; the Rogers Red World Elite pays a flatter 2% on everything for Rogers/Fido/Shaw customers (1.5% without) plus 3% outright on US-dollar purchases. Heavy Amazon/Whole Foods Prime households come out ahead on the MBNA card; everyone else (especially anyone without Prime) gets more from Rogers' flat rate.
