What matters most to you?
How the matching works
The finder first filters to cards you can actually get and want: your annual-fee ceiling, whether you need no foreign-transaction fees, your eligibility (student, newcomer, established, or business), and your goal. Cards whose issuer-published minimum income requirement you don’t clear are filtered out entirely — the quiz never recommends a card you can’t get. It then estimates each remaining card’s dollar value for your spending: your monthly spend at the card’s published earn rates, converted to dollars using the Points Standard Index valuations, minus the annual fee, plus whatever share of the welcome offer your stated spend would reach. Results are ranked on that estimate over two years, with the Standard Score breaking near-ties so editorial quality still counts. Your income answer is used only in your browser; it’s never sent to us or stored. For the full card-by-card breakdown, browse the card reviews or the ranked lists.
Frequently asked questions
How does the card finder pick my matches?
It estimates what each eligible card is actually worth to you in dollars: your monthly spending run through the card's published earn rates, priced at our Points Standard Index valuations, minus the annual fee, plus the parts of the welcome offer your stated spend would reach. Cards are ranked on that estimate over a two-year horizon, with the Standard Score breaking near-ties.
Is this sponsored or does compensation affect my results?
No. Results are ranked purely by fit and the Standard Score. See our methodology and advertising disclosure for how we keep scoring separate from any referral relationships.
Why does it show a 'who should skip it' note?
Every card has tradeoffs. We'd rather tell you upfront when a card in your results isn't a fit than let you find out after applying.
Card terms, fees, and bonuses change frequently — always confirm current offers on the issuer’s site before applying. See our methodology for how we score and value cards.
