Value by redemption type
Aventura is a chart currency with a safety net: every travel redemption is worth at least a cent, and the Flight Rewards chart adds modest upside on flights that land near the top of their price band. Our headline 1.25¢ reflects a user who checks the chart before booking but doesn't engineer trips around it.
| Redemption | Realistic value per point |
|---|---|
| Flight Rewards chart near the ticket-price maximum | 1.5–1.8¢ |
| Flight Rewards chart, typical bookings | 1.2–1.5¢ |
| Other travel via the CIBC Rewards Centre | 1.0¢ |
| Statement credits and financial redemptions | ≤1.0¢ |
| Gift cards and merchandise | 0.6–0.9¢ |
The chart works like RBC's Avion schedule, just with thinner margins: fixed points prices against fare bands mean value rises with the cash fare. Redeem when fares are near a band ceiling; pay cash on seat sales. And skip gift cards and merchandise entirely — they price below the travel floor.

Frequently asked questions
How much are CIBC Aventura points worth?
The Points Standard values Aventura points at 1.25 cents each (CAD, 2026-07-01 index) for an informed redemption, with a floor of 1.0 cent per point on standard travel bookings through the CIBC Rewards Centre. Flight Rewards chart bookings near the fare maximum can approach 1.8 cents.
How much are 45,000 Aventura points worth?
About $562.5 at our Standard value of 1.25¢ per point. The floor is $450 toward any travel; booked against the Flight Rewards chart near a band maximum, the same balance can be worth $700 or more.
What is the Aventura Flight Rewards chart?
CIBC's fixed award chart: a set number of points covers a flight whose base fare falls within a price band. Book a fare near the top of its band and each point stretches well past 1 cent; book a cheap fare against the same band and value collapses toward — or below — the 1-cent floor. The chart is the only place Aventura beats a plain 1¢ travel credit.
Are Aventura points as good as Aeroplan points?
No — and they aren't trying to be. Aeroplan's partner-award upside runs past 3 cents per point; Aventura tops out around 1.8. Aventura's case is simplicity plus CIBC's card perks (lounge visits, NEXUS rebates), not point value. If you optimize redemptions, a transferable currency wins.
